Los Angeles

We love to eat out! The greater Los Angeles area provides lots of great restaurants, food trucks, some of them are well known but some are hidden gems. Here is a list of recommended places that we came across.

The Attic in Long Beach

Probably one of my favorite restaurants here in Long Beach. The food is a fusion between Southern and Cajun. Try the Mac n’Cheese and the Banana Foster Bread Pudding! They have a great cocktails too. If you like meat try the Bloody Mary with Slider 😉

Ahimsa Vegan Cafe, Long Beach

If you don’t eat meat or you would like to enjoy a meatless meal try out the Ahimsa Vegan Cafe. They offer a wide range of food and everything is freshly made. Try the Hippy Salad or the Ahimsa Burger. The people are super friendly and it is just nice to spend some time there – no rush and no stress – definitely love it.

Son of a Gun

Despite of the small portions the food was excellent. They have a great Seafood section. Try the Lobster Roll and the Banana Bread which were my favorite. It is a great place if you don’t mind to share your food with your friends and try out different options.

Javier’s Restaurant

Javier's Restaurant

Javier’s Cantina down in Newport Beach has a beautiful view over the Pacific. It is just right on the Highway 1. They offer good Mexican food and delicious Margaritas. Take your partner out for a dinner and enjoy the sunset directly at the Pacific. Try the Enchiladas or Tacos with a classic Margarita.

Mastro’s Steakhouse

Mastro's Restaurant Costa MesaIf you want to go for excellent food, amazing experience, and a great wine selection I highly recommend Mastro’s Steakhouse. Although being a Pesco Vegetarian I enjoyed the Seafood selection! Try the Ahi Tuna Sashimi Style and a good white wine.

Din Tai Fung

Din Tai Fung Costa Mesa

If you want to go shopping in Costa Mesa and enjoy a great meal that I recommend the Din Tai Fung. The Chinese food is really delicious and the service is fantastic. Try the Peanut Sesame Noodles – Yummy.
